Anya grew up with her mother in a cozy home and in a small neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. At a young age she was taught to appreciate good food, the techniques used to make it, and how to work hard to make something happen. Her mother, who worked as a cook in a restaurant and trying to make enough money to open her own restaurant, would experiment with her recipes as Anya sat on the counter and watched. Over time, Anya memorized her mother’s techniques. After her mother passed away, Anya moved to Lake Waters for a new, fresh, start to her life and to try and continue her mother’s dream of starting up as a waitress. When she began to work, she found that she enjoyed the occupation that she had and instead of carrying on her mother’s dream, she decided to pursue what she enjoyed most. To her, happiness is doing something that you love, with the people you love. Not the money or the career that comes with it all.
Anya enjoys chatting up the customers, and being the people-person that she is, takes the time to learn their names, regular orders, and anything about them all together. Independent and stubborn, she sometimes avoids tips or gifts, claiming she can make her own way somehow. She’s rather stuck in her ways. She doesn’t especially like to be helped around when she’s serving customers either, knowing full well that she is perfectly able to do things on her own.
