"so, miss, uhm... this may seem rude but who are you? where are you from? all the generic specifics we should know about you."
"well, my name is clarissa leigh cocker, but you can just call me clary, or as my students usually do; miss clary. i was born on june twenty-eighth in new york city nearly twenty-three years, ago -i'll be twenty-three in a few days-. i'm a woman, obviously. and i think that's all the really generic things."
"you said you were born in new york, how did you get here, to lake walters?"
"well, I was training with the new york city ballet to become a principal dancer with them after graduating high school, and i had become quite comfortable with what i was doing. i was ready to start performing with them when i injured my knee, badly. it was bad enough that i couldn't keep up anymore and i had to give up my position. i didn't want to give up dancing, however, and one of the trainers owned a small studio here in walters, but she was having trouble handling it and her position in new york, so i bought the studio from her and came to teach. i've been here for four years now, and i've expanded the studio quite a bit."
"where is your family in all this? what do they think about your move?"
"my father's a big-shot lawyer back in new york, and my mother used to be a famous actress back when she was young, before she retired when she met my father. my move couldn't have come at a better time though; i'd been an only child most of my life, and just a few months before my accident, my mother told us that she was pregnant again. slowly i could see the thought of the new baby consuming their lives, and they started to worry less about me, and do less things with me, which altogether wouldn't have been so bad if i wasn't used to getting all their attention. it was obvious that my place was being taken over, and it was time for me to move out and move on, so when the opportunity arose, i jumped on it. not long after i moved, i went back and visited my parents and their new baby boy. he's adorable, and everyone is completely in love with him."
"so, how was the move? do you like it here, i mean? how are you adapting?"
"i've always been the curious type, though not particularly bright or adventurous, i'll admit. so the move was just like something new to discover for me, new people to meet. it's a bit different from living in a big city, but it's not all that bad."
"hmm... that gets me thinking... what kind of animal are you most like? you mentioned being curious, are you like a cat?"
"*laughs* that's funny; my mother always told me i was just like a dog; loyal, faithful and true. i've always enjoyed meeting new people, and i guess dogs do too. i'm generally open and agreeable, at least i try to be, and i'm rarely anything but happy, though i do worry a lot and may have a slight temper. like a dog, i'm very protective of what i love, and can get aggressive defending the people i love or a cause that is special to me... i've probably thought about it much more than a normal person would."
"a dog, eh? you don't bite now, do you? kidding... unless you're into that sort of thing... but that would be weird if you're taken? are you, i mean, in a relationship? or if you swing for the other team..."
"uhmm... i'm single, actually, but not uh, 'into that sort of thing' as you said... at least i don't think i am... and i'm straight, actually. i like boys. *blushes*"
